Daudi Baldrs takes the listener through the tortured, dungeonous mind of a Norwegian arsonist and murderer. Though I understand where the hatred for this album comes from, I will say that it is one that you have to "get" to enjoy. Very refreshing mixture of folk and dark ambient. Think if Nile ditched Ancient Egypt for Ancient Rome. It just feels a tad underwhelming when you are only left with ~35 minutes rof metal. A grandiose, over-the-top release, while remaining incredibly mature. Vanden Plas Chronicles of the Immortals: Netherworld (Path 1) Royal Hunt release some of their best material since Paradox. A nice fusion of styles from their previous two albums with some new stuff thrown in. Remains true even if not at all versed in traditional music. Shankar is a musicians musician, and this Sitar twanging (as I've heard mentioned elsewhere online).
